I thought it was really good actually... some of the best fake meat I've had. It's stuffed with... stuffing! I think the stuffing is wild rice, cranberries, raisins, and nuts.
Yeah, everyone made fun of the tofurky at the Thanksgiving table, but it was the only dish that was finished right then and didn't leave any leftovers...
I found the actual tofurky underwhelming when I made it...but there was this fantastic recipe for tofurky relish on the box. Basically a hot onion-cherry balsamic vinagrette. Most amazing part of the meal that year. Also good on salad, or cold-with-a-spoon-at-2-am.
The real question is, did you get the tofurky 'feast' that comes with tofurky 'giblet gravy?'
yes, we had the turkey feast, which includes giblets gravy (good), cranberry dumplings (surprising good), and a "wish bone". The wishbone is by far the most bizarre part - two sticks of vegan beef jerky stuck together in a cross. No matter how you pull it, both sides end up with the same size piece of jerky. What's up with that? Either they're trying to instill some sort of egalitarian principles of equal sharing to counteract the competitive wishbone spliting tradition, or they're just lazy and thought people should eat more beef jerky or...?
There aren't recipes for everything - it's not a recipe blog. Many of the foods (such as this) are bought pre-made or made in restaurants, so we can't know the recipe.
i have to admit that it looks a bit unappetizing as it reminds me of haggis! :) but i'm sure it tasted great! what was it stuffed with?
