veggie" fish"

Sheets of fried tofu stacked like millefeillle into little sticks, wrapped in seaweed, served with veg and sauce. From Cafe 668 in Toronto.

  1. I'd never heard of fake meat being wrapped in seaweed... did it feel like fish skin at all? not even sure fish skin is something I'd want to replicate, but I guess why not...

  2. It's alright but weird. The seaweed has that distinct salty taste that I have to be in the mood for. I sometimes get queasy about meat analogs too!

  3. I actually love mock fish- whenever I go to a restaurant that offers it, I make sure to order it. The funny thing is, pre-vegan, I wasn't really a big fish fan!
