Dinner at Red Bamboo

Red Bamboo Soul Cafe, West Village Location (140 West 4th St., NY, NY 10014)

Top Row, left to right: roti appetizer with curry dipping sauce, calamari appetizer, unagi don
Bottom Row, left to right: Philly Cheesesteak, Fish and Chips, Sweet 'n Sour Chicken

Everything was wonderful, especially for a faux fish lover like me! Our party agreed that the sweet 'n sour chicken was especially good.

If you go back before you leave, you have to try the Barbeque Buffalo Wings. We usually order 2 orders each and eat them as our entree!

Oh I know! I had the buffalo wings at their Brooklyn location last year and they were fabulous.

I find that place so hit or miss. At least in Brooklyn they often skimp on the portions and give you uninspired sides (plain steamed vegetables). The veggie meats are pretty good, but I still think Food Swings does it better in Brooklyn...

Great blog!

We walked past the Red Bamboo when we were in NYC this summer. We'd just had lunch but hoped to go there later, which didn't happen on that trip. I hadn't thought of the place since--so thanks for the reminder!
