halloween food

Just had to post these two dishes from our Halloween party:

seasonal sushi, some with green rice and some with white/wild rice combo, some with sweet potato filling, and some with cooked radish dyed pink with beet juice (these resembled tuna rolls!)

LindyLoo's bloody finger cookies- these are delicious! Recipe here

Eeeek. Those fingers really freak me out. I literally got chills looking at them.

did you give these to trick-or-treaters?
those sushi rolls are beautiful... what a great idea!

My friend Bridget brought these to our Halloween party on Saturday- she was afraid that they would be too gross for people, but everyone went crazy over them and gobbled them up, including the kids!
Alas, since parents don't like unwrapped candy given to their kids, we just gave out boring hard candy on Halloween night.

I'm gonna have to agree with a previous poster on this - those fingers are really SCARY! However, they're also completely awesome! Isn't Halloween the best?

Great blog :)

Hi, love the fingers, my daughter and I did a trial bake last Saturday ready for next weekend and will definately do them for the party we going to. You might like to do what I did and it makes them look even more authentic, break a brazil nut in half and stick it in the end as the boken bone, looks even more gross with the red icing too.
pezzer, although we tried with a normal biscuit recipe too, great recipe, keep em coming.

Hi,
Thank you so much for this receipe ... I made them for office party and they were a huge hit. I am not a vegan though so just used egg ... i added some chocolate syrup to make my cookies a bit more brown... they were sooooo wonderful!!!
