kim chee banh mi


Hybrid Korean-Vietnamese banh mi sandwich, filled with kim chee (red hot pickled cabbage and chili), along with the usual pickled carrot, daikon, and cilantro. A great combo! From Viet Sub in Vancouver.

Bánh Cóm (Sticky Rice)


A Vietnamese treat: two layers of green glutinous rice sandwiched around sweet mung bean paste, with coconut on top. Purchased in Chinatown, Toronto. As tasty as it is fluorescent!

Ectoplasmic Vietnamese treats from Toronto's Chinatown. Not only are they gooey and seemingly luminescent, but also tasty! Moderately sweet gel permeated with coconut shavings, surrounding a rich yellow bean paste core.
